I was very visual even as a young girl, always maintaining a keen eye for color, product placement and design.  I have an unexplainable connection to “style”, whether it be for design or fashion.  Having travelled and collected resources over the years, I built a respectable data base filled with vendors who carry the most interesting pieces.  Almost twenty years ago I opened my own gift business and at the request of my clients, my business expanded adding residential and commercial accessory design.

I was employed as a design associate with Kennith Alpert, proprietor and brilliant designer of KA Design, a prestigious NYC design firm.  Working with prominent clientele, including a list of well-known celebrities, this experience enhanced my natural interior design expertise which led me to open my own design studio, S Squared Design in 2005.  My business exceeded my expectations, generated by word of mouth.  S Squared Design grew at a pace difficult for me to keep up with alone. Hence, the birth of Nest, a partnership.

My more than 20 years experience in the home furnishings industry has encompassed design, buying and product development for major retailers such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s by Mail, Tommy Bahama, Gracious Home and Domain Home.  Additionally, I was the founder and Design Director for a wholesale home furnishings company.

I partially credit my Mom for giving me the design urge since I was always her accomplice when she did her endless rearranging of furniture and numerous style transformations.

My extensive travels for both business and pleasure, have brought me to all corners of the world. Experiencing these various cultures and settings has further enhanced and influenced my design sense and style.
